On Wednesday, January 18, 2006, Fretz Construction Company officially became a member of the Houston area Exemplary Safety and Health AGC Partnership for Excellence (S.H.A.P.E.). The Partnership originated in Houston in 1999 through an agreement with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and the Houston Chapter AGC.
The goal of S.H.A.P.E. is to reduce the number of construction site injuries, illnesses and fatalities and to recognize the companies that accomplish that goal. Companies in this partnership have proven that they effectively manage their safety programs on their job sites, thus freeing OSHA staff to concentrate on other companies’ job sites which do not have adequate safety and health standards. To be eligible to join this partnership, a company must meet some of the most stringent criteria in the country.
